Health Youth Corps 2023

This year’s Health Youth Corps, coordinated by the Fresno County Superintendent of Schools Health Services and Safe and Healthy Kids Departments, has been instrumental in building awareness on positive health outcomes for youth.

The Health Youth Corps provides students with an opportunity to be empowered about making positive choices for their health and wellness and by serving as ambassadors for their school community.  Students engage in discussions and learning experiences that cover topics on defining health, the social determinants of health, health issues amongst teens, prevention strategies, advocating for health, and mental health and coping strategies.  The yearlong program will culminate with students completing a health-related service project that will be showcased to school administrators and medical community members. Participating districts include Fresno Unified, Clovis, Riverdale, Kerman, Sanger, Washington, and Central.  The Health Youth Corps is made possible by education partners including The County of Fresno, Department of Public Health; CalViva Health; Anthem Blue Cross; and UCSF Fresno.
